The calm before the storm. How many days can things go relatively well before disaster hits. I told my husband the other day that disaster pretty much strikes every 15 minutes when you are watching the kids, so just plan for it, and when it hits, know it will be over in a matter of minutes. So we've had the typical "every 15 minute" disasters, but not the "THREE DAYS IN A ROW" type of disasters, like someone gets sick, then we have five appointments in one day, then IT'S CHRISTMAS. It's been calm. We even had a normal night or two at home, with no big meetings or appointments. But, Laurin had Strep last week, so we could all get it at once, or John's cold could turn into pneumonia, or Scott could lose his job. I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope that the calm will last a while longer, and try to be optimistic. OPTIMISTIC. My theme for the year. OPTIMISM.
PS John didn't get pneumonia, but has a bad bronchial virus, and now he has strep. Two kids on antibiotics so far. I'm ready to line them all up at the Dr's office and swab them at once. May as well finish off the H1N1 vaccines as well!
